Item Description: NO RESERVE!! This BEAUTIFUL huge, road bike frame and fork are without a doubt the largest I have ever seen. It has NEVER been completely built up and ridden. I have had five different (nice) people tell me that Colnago made a very few of these "Triple Triangle" style frames in the mid 1970's and although EXTREMELY rare, this appears to be one of them. Check out the incredible old school lug construction and imagine how it would look built up with a vintage 70's Dura Ace or Campy grouppo. It's obvious by the workmanship that that's what the builder had intended for it. Either way it's going to be a marquee piece for someones collection. My friend who I got it from said that the story behind it is that it was built for Basketball player Bill Russell but Mr. Russell didn't like the size. Apparently, the builder showed it to Russell to get his final Ok before painting it but even though it wasn't built to the size Russell had specified, he bought it anyways just because he kne! w how hard the builder had worked on it. My friend worked for Mr. Russell over an eight year span in the 1970's and early 80's. It was given to him by Bill Russell and it has sat in his garage for the last 20 or so years until I talked him out of it. He can't remember who Russell said it was built by. If there's anyone out there with a different theory of who other than Colnago may have made it then I'd LOVE to hear from you. It is ABSOLUTELY a one of a kind and it is EXTREMELY well made with absolutely beautiful lug construction (see pics). It has a new Black powder coating. I bought it and had it powdercated just because of its beauty and uniqueness. It had never been painted before. I've had it for about two years and I was going to build it up but because of too many other projects never got around to it. It comes with a Shimano 105 headset already installed and neck shown already installed (please ignore the bars). Payment within ten days or your cat may die. Winner agr! ees to pay 30.00 for tracked insured s&h and promises to send me a picture when it's complete. Good luck and happy bidding. SEE MY OTHER AUCTIONS FOR CHRIS KING AND DURA ACE PARTS!!
