I don't think the 144 mm BCD Campy Record track rings have the reinforcing rib on the inside like the 151 mm track. As a matter of fact a run down to the basement shows that to be true for the rings I have. I have little interest in running changes to Campy so I don't know if this was true throughout both rings production.
So for the more powerful or conservative the 151 BCD has the advantage of greater rigidity and strength. Somehow I have ended up with 151 as the standard on my modern track bike. Once you get a set of rings (any reasonable 3 in sequence) you tend to never wear them out so a trackie does not tend to consider the 151 BCD "out of date".
