Hello Erik. I have an original 1968 Hetchins Magnum Bonum (bought second hand). It was set by Cupertino Bike Shop and has Cinelli Bivalent Hubs with AVA sew-up rims w/ tied &soldered spokes. The hubs add so much to the bike. Lets face it, when you ride a Hetchins these days you're bound to get lots of attention. If and when you stop at a cycling watering hole and people ask about the stays give them a demonstration on the hubs. This is what makes cycling fun. If you do decide to ride with the hubs, you might consider disassembling the spline ring from the rear hub and applying some loctite GREEN on the threads. There are only afew threads holding on this critcal part - it can strip out the aluminum hub. Whos doing the paint on your Hetchins????? Dave Martinez
