I have one of these on my '60 Cinelli SC. "CAMPAGNOLO" in an oval as you state with small "MODEL" underneath. Purpose of the narrow rails was that it gave you a huge range of adjustment fore and aft. There was no seat post clamp from Brooks to mount the saddle to a plain seat pin.
