Subject: [CR]Help Dating Atala Frame

I have an Atala frame that I love dearly - I'd like to know more about. I got it used and I'm at least the third owner. The serial number is F416460. Fellow list member Chris Beyer has seen the bike and said the lugs look like Nervex to him but I know zilch about lugs. I'll try and take a picture or three and put them up somewhere if you folks think that would help.

The person who sold it to me thought it was from the 70's but couldn't say more than that. It has unusual dimensions which suit me well, being 51cm in the seat tube (to the center) and 57-58 in the top tube.

I didn't see Atala listed on the main CR web page - is there info in there I've missed?

The bike is currently my fixed gear commuter, with sewups, fenders, a rack, and lights front and rear, but I'm considering restoring it to its original glory and outfitting it as a touring bike - it has very long chainstays. I believe it was built for 27" wheels originally.

Many thanks in advance.
