I recently acquired a 1972 Peugeot A0-8 (purely nostalgic reasons, I'm sure). I'm trying to find the headset lockring that has holes around its circumference to accept a pin that protrudes up from the threaded collar of the top cup. The steerer is keyed instead of having a flat ground on the back of it, so the lockring must have the tab that engages the keyway. Also, I am looking for a frame pump that goes between the brazed on pump pegs that are on the downtube. (The ones offered on the Harris Cyclery site are too small). The pegs on the A0-8 are about 19and1/2 inches apart. The bike had an interesting "upgrade". It has a Nervar alloy crankset which is in great shape. The bottom bracket is one I have never seen. The fixed cup has eight flats instead of the usual two, and the adjustable cup has a raised hex (24mm) for adjusting instead of the usual holes for a pin spanner. Maybe this was common on low end French bikes but is new to me. Anybody know the ID? or is it just plain generic for the period? Thanks, Don W.
