Subject: [CR]Bio and Bike List

Dear CR, I've resisted as long as I can. Confession is good for the soul. I am 51 years of age, have been actively collecting since 1986, and am now edging up toward 100 bikes, many of which are "antique". Here's a few that might interest our members: 1885 Crescent hard-tire safety 1897 American-made Humber 190l Sterling shaft-drive 1902 Humber with 3spd. Humber-Cordner hub gear 1911 New Hudson Imperial with 3spd. Armstrong hub 1930'--40's Seiber with Osgear 1940's Bottecchia 1938 Schwinn Paramount track 1949 Schwinn Paramount with SA 3spd. g-hub gear 1961 Rene Herse 1940's Torpado 1954 Hetchins Nulli Secundus on the way 1970 Cinelli Super Corsa

Whew! There's a line from a Wendell Berry poem that occurred to me as I compiled this list. It goes something like this: "Never accumulate so many relics you'll be relieved when your house burns down."

Thanks for your support. Daniel Dahlquist
