Christmas, 1962, Italian ten speed of some sort from Simon Hardware. Put it together ourselves in the kitchen. Have a picture of it but can't make out the name and for the life of me I don't remember what it was. One o them ini names. At $65 it must have been pretty basic. My friends all got Varsitys that year and I was jealous. I remember 27 x 1 1/4 gumwalls that flatted easily. The bike didn't last that long. My brother's fell apart in a year and he sold it to me for parts. Mine lasted another year or so, but meanwhile I had bought my Schwinn American (still have it) and that was my paper route and college bike.
