Hey, Jeffrey!

How could I know that as I was banging away on my wife's old Viscount, stripping it after 20 years in storage, someone else was doing the same thing?

I was pretty surprised, and disappointed, when I got to the BB and found the strange pressed in spindle setup. Like you, I wonder

a) what to do next b) is there any way to do a replacement

and also

c) what is the point?

After all, isn't this the bike with the suicide aluminum fork?

When you and I find out what to do next, I'll proceed. Until then, the parts go in a box, and I look around for some OTHER bike to tear down and rebuild....

Hey, what do you think of the old Shimano ders. on there? Is there such a thing as vintage shimano parts? I think these must be from the mid to late 70's.....
