As someone who still rides tubulars every day, I'd love to hear comments from anyone who can compare using them then and now. I use 3M Fastack as my rim cement and have never had the kind of glue softening problems Jobst mentions, but I've also never ridden in mountains like those he rode in, either.

A couple of riding friends and I are discussing a tour in Alps next summer and if anyone succeeds in finding me that 4-speed rear derailleur classic lightweight I've always wanted, I'd consider shodding it with wooden rims for the trip! Anyone have any weight statistics on wooden rims? My riding friends would be very please if I had heavy wheels <grin>.
