I'm fairly new to this list, so forgive me if this type of query is out of line (I checked through Dale's informative suggestions first and couldn't find anything contrary). Anyway, a colleague of mine at work has a '73 Paramount P15 (I think--touring frame w/eyelets and triple Campy crank) which he would like to sell. Our LBS has some experience with vintage bikes, and suggested a market value around $900; the bike is in great shape, chrome looks fine as does the paint and transfers, all Campy equip (incl brakes), 27" clinchers (he swapped out the orig tubulars, but kept the hubs). I'm interested in purchasing this bike, but felt that it was worthwhile to solicit opinions from you folks since you're obviously better versed in this than any of the concerned parties. The last thing I want to do is pay too little for it, given my relationship with this fellow, but conversely, I don't want to cough up $900 based on the word of one individual. Any thoughts?
