WOW. . . a bunch of you want to know what Art is up to these days so here's what I found out. 100% of the e-mails I recieved believe he was before his time and was sorry to see him stop building bikes. He's now in a wheelchair (of his own design?) and Lives in Los Osos by San Luis Obispo, California. Someone actually sent me his physical address but I'm not going to publish is publicly. It seems Cyclart Jim has at least one Stump frame, but very little of his stuff is still out there.

The reason I posted about him is another project I'm working on is on the "undiscovered" masters of the bicycle industry. People before their time like Art, Harlan Meyers, and Pino Moroni. Many of the "mad scientists" of the past are gone and we have very little information on them. I know many of us would love to have an in-depth interview with someone like Pop Brennan, Alex Singer, or Colonel Albert Pope. Alas we cannot, sure there are some interviews around but few of them answer many of the questions bike creators and collectors wonder about. This is a back burner project but I think it is historicly important so expect to hear more about it in the future.

thanks, Brandon"monkeyman"Ives
