Jon, "Shoe Goo" does the trick. You can pick it up at any good shoe repair or shoe store. I think Fontana's in college town sells it. Inflate the tire just enough to give it shape, clean the wound good with alcohol then apply. Let it dry overnight. You might have to apply a second coat. It dries clear and wears like iron. The key is applying it so that you do not create a bump with every rotation. Try to blend it in as if it were part of the actual tread. When I was really pinching pennies, I actually applied a whole bead around a tire that had threads showing almost all the way around. The ride was a little lumpy but it worked until I couls afford another $50.00 tubular. Good Luck! I will see you in a couple weeks.
