This is the reaction I've gotten many times. Most are just ignorant of what they have, IMHO.

As far as being a sellers market, I've found that it's just about like anything else. I've found some very good deals, but you have to be very diligent (if not relentless). If you don't have the time it is difficult. I've bid on the same (or nearly the same) item a dozen times, offered by a dozen different sellers, before I got it at a price I could live with. Sometimes it never works.
