Picture of the day: arch-rivals Francesco Moser and Giuseppi Saronni get a bit physical during a stage of the 1985 Giro d'Italia.

Who will win the "Happiest Rider" award? It's gonna be close!

Note the fresh white cloth tape on both bikes, at a time when most riders were switching to Benotto Celo, or Almarc leather in the case of the Bianchi team.

Also in transition - the pink Castelli Leader's jersey is knit wool, while Moser's "Gis Trentino" team jersey (also by Castelli) is synthetic, like today's racing jerseys.
