I have a Brooks B.17 Competition Standard. On the frame I find stamped, A60 I've been told that this is the year of manufacture. I have another saddle stamped B72. In earlier days I thought this was the model because this particular saddle was, in fact, a BE.72. Are these stamped numbers the year of manufacture? If so, what do the letters signify? When did Brooks stop doing this, as I have seen no newer saddles with any numbers stamped on the frame? Thanks in advance for any info.
