Small, recessed corners are one of the problems with powder coating. Think of the corner of a room and as something tries to get into the very corner, it will come close enough to adhere to the wall on either side before reaching the actual corner, leaving the deep corner uncoated. In my way-back-when years of selling heating and air conditioning, I could walk into a house and tell instantly if they had a carbon monoxide leak. The corners of the rooms would be much lighter than the wall a half inch either way from it. Also happens in rooms with smokers.
