These are called guidonnet (sp?) levers, I believe, but I don't know what that means. See a pair at http://www.annie.ne.jp/~jun/pg/ct02.htm .

I have some Mafac ones from the early 50's which are mounted on Upright tourist bars. In this configuration, they clamp on near the stem and follow the curve of the bars, although
