Hi. I am Stuart Ferris, nicknamed Mac, and a recent new member. I live in mid coast Maine and run the cabinet operations for a custom yacht building company of about 80 employees. My love has been bicycles and racing bicycles for many years. I have as recent model competion bikes a Litespeed Vortex DA9, a Fisher Sugar1MTB, and a mid nineties Alan Cross. In vintage bikes I have an early 80s Masi GC, perfectly original in virtually unused condition all SR etc., two Raleigh 3 speeds, one of which I use as a commuter bike, a 1970 Atala Pro frame and fork which I wish to build up with correct equipment (I am going to need some good advice when I get into that project this summer) and another Atala touring waterpipe special from I think the early seventies. This bike is missing the rear wheel but otherwise is complete. I know that it was a cheap model but it is charming and I would really like to get it operational. It has a cheap sticker on the top tube which says " grand prix", Campy hubs and shifters, a Valentino rear derailleur and I think a Gran sport front derailleur, Weinmann brakes etc. The spacing on the rear reds 120mm but I think it might be 122 according to another friend? Thanks for any help you might be able to give. There is an amazing amount of knowledge within your group. It is always informative to read the mail. Stuart Ferris
