I know we have many experts here, but my own experience is you do not wax stove pipe enamel until it has aged. I had purchased a Bob Jackson in 1975 and waxed the paint when received. The paint was extemely soft and chipped during bike assembly. I sent the frame back for other reasons and did not wax the next frame for a year. The paint is still very tough. Bob Jacksons seem to have very nice paint, I know some of you feel that is the best aspect of them but I enjoy that bike to this day. It was well designed though the workmanship is certainly not on the level of many american builders on this list.
