Brian,

I know, it's not the same. Rene' built that bike, it was his artisan craft, and there's a bit of him in it.

You saw it, so you know more about the condition that most of us, but in my screen, that bike looks like it'll need a lot of TLC. The threads on the left side crank arm look a little munged up to me, somebody's dog ate the front derailleur (Sheldon I can use "derailleur" here right? it is a French bike..), the headlight looks like a crash victim, who knows what the bearings, cups, cones, races and other replaceable part are like. And there's the bad karma associated with the crash.. And "I bet those grapes are just sour", said the fox, who couldn't reach them.
