Fellow members of the list.

I feel slightly embarassed not to have introduced myself earlier. As others have, I will keep it brief.

I live in the middle of Toronto close to Mike Barry's shop, Canada's most knowledgeable classic bike enthusiast and dealer. My wife and three kids look at me strangely when on the topic of bikes, they seem to prefer Cannondale mtn and BMX machines. Ugh!

I work from my home and provide graphic design/ illustration services to a varied clientele.

Disposable income is hard to come by these days so my bike collection consists of two Guiseppi Marinoni bikes that I ride on a daily basis. The 1979 frame was re finished last winter by Guiseppi in Montreal. It went from a tired Silver and Blue to Farrarri Red with Yellow detailing. Flashy but tasteful. It has long pointed pragnat lugs with windows and mostly old Campi equipment. The other is a 1988 short pointed investment cast lugged frame and has one of the early fade paint jobs. The gruppo is Campi Chorus which was introduced the same year.

My interest in classic bikes started while growing up in the N. London area in the 40's and 50's and in 1955, had the pleasure of owning a very second hand Holdsworth Monsoon. My riding partner had Claud Butler build him a beautiful red flamboyant touring bike and we would C.T.C. it to North Wales and various other places. In those days we rode in pairs and motorised traffic waited patiently behind!

If these bikes are museum pieces, then I guess I am too! Where did all that time go?

I wish everybody great cycling for the up coming season and those in the south... I am green with envy.
