Dude, The cogs actually last a pretty long time considering you keep fresh chains on them...BUT the pawl springs have a nasty habit of going bad. I have owned 7 of them. I am down to 3 left that I am currently selling.(In the original packaging) The floating pawl versions were junk and were replaced by triple fixed pawl shortly after initial release. Maintenance is a piece of cake. You need a special tool for removal from the hub. Other than that, simple freewheel overhaul tools.(Pin spanner, 2 chain whips, and a freewheel vise) A nice addition to any early 80's Super Record bike. But if the freewheel in question is more than $150.00, email me! Ti au goudo bella gianata, kevinsbikes@netzero.net
