Subject: [CR]IDing a bike from the bar taping style?

I have a french Philippe No. 45 stem and bar; mid-1950s to 60s, the one that you see Jacques Anquetil riding with the red "arrow" on the top of the clamp. They were a take-off from a new bike long ago. I don't know what they were taken off of, but they were taped with red plastic handlebar tape and plain red plastic bar plugs. The bars were taped on the tops and on the bottoms... four separate sections of tape in other words. No tape at the brake levers. The brake levers weren't on the bars, but must have been either Mafac or Weinmann, because those had clamps that could be removed without sliding to the end of the bar. Any ideas what bikes came taped when new like this?
