Yes, I agree that the shifters were the weakest-performing part of the NR gruppo (if you classify cracks in the cranks as a durability rather than a performance issue). Particularly annoying is their tendency to slip into a higher gear while climbing out of the saddle. I finally had to replace the shifters on my wife all-NR Windsor Pro with C-Record era Campy retrofrictions because of that. Simplex Criterium friction shifters (the all-alloy ones, not the cheap plastic ones) are actually better than Campy NR in this respect.

No, but my post was a little vague.
I was referring to the old Campy friction levers, nice to look at but
certainly kept around longer than was warranted.
As nice as most of Campagnolo's parts were finished and functioned the
levers
are a weak link. Having made suitable arrangements (Suntour ratchets), all
of
mine will soon be sleeping in their baggies.
