Folks:

Might I suggest that we find a way to minimize the number of messages replying to queries such as the "What shoe?" posting. I enjoyed the responses but understand why some members might have little or only peripheral interest in such a topic. Perhaps when such a question is posed, the author could request that replies be forwarded to the author only for compilation and subsequent posting to the list. A 24-hr delay for responses might allow the majority of respondees to chime in. This may be useful in minimizing the traffic and screening efforts. I've seen this work pretty effectively on other listservs.
