As a fellow burned-out, long-haired drug addict I must point out that it beats being depicted as fat, wheezing, energy-gobbling imperialists ;-) -- 'course, at least the hippies are skinny -- maybe that's EPO in them thar syringes ... And we didn't come off any worse than the others ... Time was when most American cyclist would've been surprised to see American-built bikes classed with the best from Britain, France, Italy or Japan. Today we rule, but it didn't happen overnight (thanks Richard, Grant, Brian, Matt, Albert ...) Seriously, though -- what a stable of beautiful machines! A lucky guy. Dennis Ryan (new to the list -- howdy, y'all!) in Louisville, where it hit low-mid 70s with light winds, and it's 68 now on Opening Night, and will hit 80 this weekend, and where I rode for two-plus hours this evening ...

I fear though, some Americans may not like the caricature of Americans, on the link to American bikes. Not all Americans are burnt-out long-haired drug addicts you know (although I am, so of course I am not offended).

Honestly, you can't see me grin in e-mail, so I must say again I thought it was all wonderful, even the caricature which is hilarious. Bravo!
