I agree with cyclartist. Rip off is the wrong term. If that's a part you need, at it's rare, you pay the price or go without.

Its far from accurate, because there are parts that existed for one, maybe 2 years and they've never been reproduced. First you have to find originals (they're out there somewhere), and if you do, you gotta pay the price or try finding another one (difficult). I've been to a million swapmeets chasing these parts, and I've found many, but not at a price I could afford. So I do with substitutes. The bike is cool, but its not going to win any concours. (not that I care)
