More details please, was it anyone "big"? Or was it some joker thinking the bicycle industry actually had money?

I've seen a few too but they were really the lightweights of the time. I think the problems in the old cranks had more to do with voids or flaws in the casting than design. Were there any cranks in specific you were thinking about?

Sorry if this was meant for me. I use Pine at work which can be a real pain to edit in, but at home I used Eudora. Not CCing and BCCing to everyone would help general bandwith issues to.
