suntour made both road (superbe pro) and mtb (xc-pro) seatposts which would serve quite well. the were the essentially the same (excellent 2-bolt clamp), but the xc-pro was ~300mm.

I have one of those Superbe Pro Gruppos on my Raleigh Prestige road = bike. The Prestige came as a frame only from the factory, and the shop = must have desired an upscale gruppo to complement the frame. Everything = is upscale for the 80's era: Superpe Pro but Royal Grande Compe 400 = brakes and Regina freewheel. Cineli, fits as choice for stem and seat = but someone obviously knew that the Superbe pro seatpost was less than = ideal. They choose a cheesy seatpost made by SR instead. I would like to = get something more functional as the adjustment for tilt is second rate. = What would not be too expensive but at least look period correct? By the = way, I must say that the Superpe Pro crank and deraileurs are a major = step up from those ARX and Suginos I had on another bike. I can = recommend the Superbe Pro Gruppo as looking attractive, modern, classic = and being dependable too. Garth
