By the way, if it helps with the dating, the sidepull brakes - which are original - have MIGNON UNIVERSAL stamped on them. Also, although it has no brazeons for waterbottles, it does have them for downtube shifters and, oddly, an inch long tab (rearfacing) with a screw at the end on the right-side seatstay near the dropout (which also has fine adjustment screws). And, rather than just a simple crosstube between the seatstays for brake mounting, it has a thin steel plate with holes predrilled for a rack - or at least I'm using them for a rack.
On the aesthetic front, it's painted red with silver decals. The seattube decal says (Rossignoli Milano) and the downtube has Rossignoli in white script. It also has a couple of banner-style decals on the toptube that say "Extra Sport".
The only other rather unusual feature is that the end of the seatstays, where they are brazed to the top of the seattube, are torpedo or cigar shaped - like the end of a cone.

The frame is clearly quite old, given both its condition and slack angles (especially the fork rake). Nonetheless, it is a superb riding machine. Does anyone out there know anything more about Rossignoli (of Milano), and, if so, how can I date it?
