Last year, and the year before, it was hilly. There is a flat area or two on the route, particularly towards the latter 1/4, but otherwise it goes up and down with some significance. A double with a 42/28 would not be excessive, but the climbs are not multi-mile bar-biters. Folks from Ohio or Kansas might be discomforted a bit.

Besides, the stronger riders can help push up the slower ones, since we are all friends and these are not races (except for the Oroboyz...)

Remember, the sooner you get back on Sunday, the more likely there is to be something worthwhile left to purchase at the Swap. I'm thinking our crew will ride the full Metric Saturday with you all, and just do the half-metric Sunday then maybe cycle back towards Durham after the tables close at 4 or 4:30 for a few more miles.
