Subject: [CR]Yet More Lambert Wierdness

Thanks to parts from several list members, I'm edging closer to actually riding the circa 1974 Lambert I bought for $50. Just when I thought I'd discovered all the wierd stuff about this bike, yet another appears. Since the wheels were non-original and less than wonderful, and since a pair of Lambert hubs from another list member haven't been built yet, I decided to use a spare wheelset temporarily, and figured it would be 120mm rear 5 speed spacing. When this 120mm rear proved too narrow, I measured the frame, and found that it not only was 6 speed, but 128mm, 2mm wider than a typical 6 speed. My first thought was someone had spread the frame, but I discovered that the Lambert hub, from a completely different source, was also 128mm. Has anyone else noted this 128mm spacing on Lamberts? Were the Lambert-branded freewheels, then, 6 speed or even 7 speed?
