My compilation of Peugeot catalogs (from Chuck) shows the Stronglight 107 crank first appearing in 1982 and continuing through about 1986. The presence of this crank on the Team Champion Motobecane would indicate that approximate era. I agree the cranks and derailleurs are probably original, while the brakes are not. The SR bars and stem don't strike me as original, but by the mid 80's Motobecane was using a lot of Japanese stuff, so it is possible they might be. I agree the Heliocomatic hubs were not usually OE on the very top models. Maillard 700 with tubular rims would have been more likely. I'd value the bike at about 10 times the $40 purchase price. BTW, those are indeed Retrofriction shifters.
