Howdy, Y'all:
I need to find someone who is conversant with function and adjustment of a Simplex Tour de France rear derailleur. I've got mine so it shifts all five cogs on the 14-24 freewheel just fine, but skips on the two smallest if I pedal somehwat hard. Do I need to adjust the spring which teneions the derailleur cage? The chain is definitely not too long.
Also: when did these things go out of production? I have it mounted on a mystery unbranded French frame which has one of the unique derailleur hangers on the rear dropout designed spcifically to clear the arm-tensioning spring of the TDF or JUY-51.
If you have any idea what I'm talking about, let me know.
