Subject: [CR]clearcoat finish for bare steel frame?

Howdy,

I have a 70's Italvega Columbus Tretubi frame that I am building up into a fixed gear. When I picked it up at a thrift store early this year, the original paint had already been replaced with a rattlecan respray. I stripped all that off a couple of months ago and intended to repaint the frame, but the look of the bare tubes and lugs and the brazing and the Columbus stamps has really grown on me. Here is a link to an album of pics:

Anybody have any guidance/suggestions about a clearcoat finish for a bare steel frame? Tips and tricks for how to do it? Products to use?

Thanks,

Chuck Clark
