Allez was Holdsworth's house brand like Lytaloy was Hobbs' component brand name. The Allez branding was used on pedals, aluminium cottered cranks and hubs. Lytaloy branding was used on a headset, aluminium cottered cranks, brakes, mudguards and pedals. Lytaloy headsets are comm, only found on late 40s and early 50s bikes of many different makes. They have an aluminium top locking nut and with the top race secured with a serrated washer. Both Allez and Lytaloy were just post-war - the Allez branding was used for quite a few years for all sorts of little bits later. I have a pair of Allez pedals on Ebay at present for sale at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1153458669
