Subject: [CR]I was ripped on Ebay

It has been almost three months now, and I thought I would relate a deppressing Ebay tale. Some time ago I was excited to find an 80's full color Raleigh catologue, selling on Ebay. The bidding was in British pounds, so I gave it a go. I was looking for a catologue that would have described my mid eighties made in England Raleigh Prestige frameset. My bid of about 6 bucks USA was accepted (bid was in pounds- this is converted price for our list members). The seller was slow to contact me but eventually responded after my second attempt. He gave me an address to send the money to, and then sent me another address when I asked him why he didn't originally specify United Kingdom in the address. I sent him $10.00 US for the agreed cost of catalogue, plus postage and plus a few pennies so that I could send him exactly a ten dollar bill. Since that time I have written many emails (some friendly and then later angry and critical). Ebay won't let me submit another comment on the seller ( who has a shaded insignia), because I originally submitted a mildly scolding review of him saying that he was slow to respond. He is now in the criminal catagory because he never responds to any of my emails. The only reason I didn't use paypal is because I have had such good experience buying and selling over the Internet using the honor system. Now I would at least like to protect other ebayers, and on future notes to the list I will give his exact moniker. Garth
