Subject: [CR]Re: Hoarding or Collecting

When I was eight a guy down the street collected every Topps card for 1958. When he got the last card, a Clemente, he had all of his buddies come over and he threw all of his cards up in the air and we all scrambled for them. Now that's collecting. Today, guys stash boxes of unopened cards in hopes of the next big rookie card. That's hoarding (and speculation, etc.)

The beater posts earlier were interesting to me. I hope it's not off topic, but I would be interested in how others have rebuilt classic bikes or used classic or vintage frames and parts in creative ways. I have an Allegro framed, chromed and with Nervex lugs that as a road bike is too small and uncomfortable for me. I build it up as a city bike, changing the 27" wheels to 700 laced to metallic blue Campy bmx(?) hubs, with upright bars, non vintage brake levers, and mostly vintage parts.

Anyone know anything about a Bianchi folder?

And finally, what about your takes on the ugliest bike , or worst bike, or bikes you love to hate. Can't beat a Huffy Aerowind, full Positron...come on. You got to love to hate that bike.

Art Smith Hoping to hit 110 today, rode early. How come when I have a tailwind, I think I've gotten faster and stronger only to realize the sad truth riding home?
