I personally hate to see individuals write Campy or Campagnolo in the subject line when the item is not Campagnolo. But, the trend is to do so since most aficiandos search for items by that name, or Simplex, etc..

I think most also click on the "Search titles And descriptions" box when searching for high end bicycle gear. If not they need to. Also, there used to be the main category under Transportation: Bicycles, and now most auctions go to Sporting Goods: Bicycles. When I list an item I almost always list on both, but maybe nowadays that is not necessary since many click on "view seller's other auctions".

Most of the CR crowd, and BOBs, tend to know the Ebay system, as far as getting around. But some do not. In all reality I would rather give up the computers and go back to the old system of not so long ago. But then I would never have met you all.........

(I think it's the "classic" out in front) Why this is, is beyond me.

In general I think ebay's cracking down is a good idea, as it becomes irritating getting back numerous unwanted auctions because some sellers are throwing in every old and defunct manufacturer's name they can think of in their ad(in addition to the too cute "not Campy"). Some items can be a real challenge(3TTT comes to mind). How does one search without having to enter every variation you can think up?
