Rick asked where he might get PC-Cillin.

Go to http://www.antivirus.com. It is a (paid) download and a simple install. It is easily configured to run real-time background scans, as well as routine maintainance scans (daily is not too much).

The desktop versions of Norton and McAffee have crappy default configurations and suck machine resources, making real-time and maintainance scans fairly unpalatable. Even when I was running a 233 Mghz with 64 megs of RAM, I barely took a performance hit. The updates are small and load quickly, even with a dial-up. They are auto- installing. Even if you use firewall software (that's another topic...), you can set it to allow automatic checks for updated "pattern files."

As a sidebar, I have NEVER received a virus, in spite of extensive on- line activity for many years. I have in the past two days received two especially malicious bits of code from two different lists. I would have been hosed--including my little side business--were it not for safe computing practices and good anti-virus software.

Please feel free to ask me for help if you need it, but if oyu decide to use PC-Cillin, the install is so easy I doubt you will need me. And for Norton and McAffee users--time to update those virus definitions!
