I know this is a long shot but...

Just bought a Bianchi Specialissima on ebay, original owner said it was a '63, a rustbucket but I relish a challenge. I thought it was mechanically perfect but under the grime there is a crack in the left crank.

It's a 170, and it goes with the right that has the 151mm bolt circle diameter, a slightly different look than the later cranks. I have a later crank I can ride it with for now, I just hope I don't run into any CR members out on the road - y'all are the only people who will know it's the wrong crank. ("Your left crank - it ain't right!")

Anyone got one in a junk box ever since they broke the matching right?

Nursing my hurt with a 1996 De Dolle "Stille Nacht", maybe the best bottle of beer I have ever tasted - how did it last for 5 years? The patience and restraint of the Belgians must be beyond anything seen on these shores...
