According to their hype, Mildenhall CC (http://www.mildenhallcc.org.uk) have (from their website, on the Mildenhall festival of cycling, 25-27 August) With Mildenhall C.C. now promoting by far the largest grass track meeting in the country, it is only right that we make it accessible to as many classes as possible, therefore 2001 will be open to all categories.

Juveniles will be able to ride on free or fixed wheels on Saturday along with the ladies and if there are sufficient entries the juveniles will be split into boys and girls.

On Sunday there will be racing for conventional track bikes plus mountain bikes. The MTB event is listed in this year’s BCF handbook so we are expecting a larger entry than in previous years.

The Team Pursuit, the only grass track event of it’s type on the grass calendar, attracted 9 teams in 2000, the same as the National Hard Track Championships, and with G.B.’s success in the World Championships we expect more to enter this year.

There will be an Olympic Sprint, with prizes for club and composite teams, and East Anglian events will include the Norwich Cycling Association Championships plus the Divisional Team Pursuit.

Our aim is to promote a fast movng, interruption (weather) free program over the three days of grass that will keep spectators at the trackside each afternoon. We look forward to seeing you there.

Gareth, 22C, Cambridge, bit breezy with a touch of rain in the air.
