Actually it's not so much that it's verboten but the host server won't relay attachments at all.

That drives me nuts too and I can't figure out why some folks do that.. On the other hand, it is helpful to include the snippet that you are responding to from the previous post as many of us don't sometimes read posts in proper chronological order (or at all!) and it helps to know what the heck you are talking about!!
