Yes, you are supposed to do that stuff yourself at:

The reason it didn't happen quickly is:
- You didn't know you could do it yourself at the above URL!
- Failing the above happening, I would need to read your request in the first place.. Like everyone else, I only read CR mail as I have time. Sometimes I actually go a day or two before I can catch up.. So if I did not read a request, I am not able to act on it.
- Once reading your request, I would have to log on the List manager's web site, entering the membership section (which takes 5 + minutes to load) and then search for your e-mail address and appropriately modify your membership status.
So, I hope all others read this and hereafter manage their own accounts, suspend service for vacations, quit the list, or whatever...
