I'm Tom... just joined the list yesterday.
Although I've been riding for a long time, I'm just now starting to dabble in the vintage world, and this seemed like a great place to start.
I came to cycling from a running background, but wound up getting involved in ultradistance cycling, recently graduating, at 46 years of age, to road racing. I'm currently a licensed USCF Category 4 in my second season of competition, and am just starting to crack the RR and criterium "nut", but my first love is the individual time trial, for which I seem to have a bit of a natural proclivity.
My current rigs are:
2000 Colnago Dream Lampre (road racing) 2001 Masi Team 3V (circuit/crit racing) 1998 Pinarello Stelvio Dolmen (equipped with Campy Racing Triple) 1997 Lemond Tourmalet (set up for ultradistance/severe climbing) 1995/6 Zipp 2001 (time trial)
Soon to acquire a Harry Quinn track bike of unknown vintage. The bike appears to be essentially unmolested, bearing it's original blue paint, head badge, seat tube monaker, and "yellow" headset cups. I suspect it's 70s or 80s vintage, but I'm not certain. I would VERY much appreciate any info on Harry Quinn track bikes in addition to what's available on the CR pages.
Ride hard.
Tom
