Subject: [CR]Unique crankset finds a unique crimped frame...a Hawk?

I asked about the funky crankset earlier. Some days things just go right. I visited one of our esteemed old bike guys and showed him the crank and he proceeded to pull out the matching frame. The decals are shot and the paint is worn off the brass badge but it looks as if it may say "Hawk" and/or "Germany" on it. Nice ornate lugwork on the headtube. The rear seat and chainstays have crimped tubing...ala Colnago style. Looks like it dates back to the 40's or 50's.

Any information about this bike would be appreciated. The guy gave me the frame...He'd lugged it around for 18 years waiting for a crankset to show up.My lucky day.

TIA
