I bought my neighbor's Fuji "Special Road Racer" bicycle for $30. Bike serial number is 'K8KU2028" and is stamped on the lower part of the seat tube. The only decals is "Special Road Racer" on the downtube and 'FUJI" on the seat tube, along with a Fuji trademark on seat tube and Fuji symbol on the forks. My neighbor claims the original owner told him the bike was a "S10S" model and the bike was bought about 1973 to 1976.

I am interested in knowing the following: 1. Approximate year of manufacture. 2. The frame material, 4130 type tubing or 1010 type tubing. 3. Rim material, Al or steel

Short description: 1.. Lugged frame with 1 1/8" down tube, stays and fork are half chromed (chromed discolored), SR lugs 2.. clamp on front derailleur and rear derailleur attached with an adaptor, no integral hanger 3.. RD is Suntour V GT luxe with a 14-28 5 speed Suntour freewheel. FD is Suntour. 4.. Suntour clamp on down tube shifters 5.. Ukai 36 spoke wheels with Sunshine QR hubs. The rims appear to be Al based on slight tarnish and no rust. No stamped markings on rims and the Ukai name is a label. 6.. Belt tensioned leather saddle 7.. Sugino Maxy crank 8.. Nitto stem and bars (Olympian 116)

I checked the Fuji info here and 76 catalog did not list this model. Also, I checked the 4 latest archives and found no topics on this Fuji model.

Any help appreciated and TIA
