I think Dale's new rule is excellent in intent, however it means many honest deals will fall by the wayside. I think a better formulation would be that no goods should be offered unless verifiable contact information for the actual seller is given. The upshot is that bikerdaver's reputation never goes on the line because he simply provides contact information. If the deal goes south, the defrauded party has the information for investigation. The important thing is a correct identification seller/buyer.

Fraud is bad, defamation is bad, but honest sales unknown are bad as well.
