From 22 years of being a full time bike mechanic in the Northwest, I have only seen maybe five frames in all that time have a tube rust out to where it was structurally damaged. It takes either almost deliberate abuse and neglect or (more common) a rider with really corrosive sweat who can't read the yellow cans in the grocery store that say "Pledge." David Feldman
